Yoni Egg Practice for Reproductive Health & To Support Sexual Healing

The pelvic floor is a large group of muscles that helps support all of our internal organs. If this "basket" of muscles is either too tense and tight from trauma and stored stress, or if it is too weak from lack of proper use of the muscles and exercise, it can affect and even inhibit our ability to experience pleasure through orgasm, and inhibit our ability to not wet our pants when we sneeze!

This leads to reproductive health problems, painful menses, loss of sensitivity and sensation, and overall low energy levels. In fact, the main culprit of reproductive illness is lack of blood flow to this area of the body.

Many women live energetically up in our heads, living on emotional autopilot, either working away from home or in the home caring for our families. Wether we are homemakers, stay at home moms, or CEO's many of us are largely disconnected from our feminine energy and are busy thinking of the next thing, and planning for the next meal or business venture. This constant planning, strategizing and serving is needed and is beautiful in its right but it is a masculine energy that doesn't allow us to surrender and soften into our pelvic floor or yoni.

Many of us sit still for long periods of time at work or during commutes, and those of us who work out, even regularly, almost never engage the pelvic floor muscles consciously.

Many women I have spoken to personally don't really enjoy sex. They see it as something they do for their husbands, to please and satisfy them out of love but they don't enjoy it for themselves. Often they can't even have penetrative sex without using a lubricant, struggling to self lubricate. Or like me when I was first married, sex is painful and they're not able to enjoy and don't know what turns them on.
I believe this is primarily because of a lack of relationship and connection to the Wombspace and yoni.

Many things can attribute to this disconnect. Trauma, negative emotions around sexuality or being a woman, growing up in a sexually oppressive culture or religion, perceived or real abandonment, or simple lack of exercise and attention to the yoni, or lack of intimacy with one's sexuality.

When you practice with a Yoni Egg, you engage the muscles of the pelvic floor and bring awareness to your yoni. Your brain starts to create new neuron pathways that correlate with your wombspace, yoni, and clitoris. New nerve endings form directly in the tissue. This means more lubrication more easily, and increased sensitivity.

You may think that this is bad news for those who experience painful sex, but it is actually helpful. More lubrication will make you juicier, and will help relax your yoni. It will communicate to your subconscious that turn on is happening. Increased sensitivity leads to LESS pain, and not more.

Your pleasure receptors are often "dormant" and the pain receptors are on high alert. An increase in sensitivity means the pleasure receptors are "coming online" and firing up. A soft yoni will signal the brain to produce more dopamine. The more dopamine you produce, the more dopamine receptors you create to receive the influx of dopamine. That's right. You have to RECEIVE your own dopamine, or it won't do you any good. This is often what happens during masturbation. You get a quick hit of dopamine that doesn't last and it leaves you feeling empty and hungry for more.

Unstable relationships can have a similar affect. Dopamine receptors are required for lasting pleasure and fulfillment. Dopamine receptors are built over time. Taking the time to create a beautiful and mindful yoni egg practice, and investing the time in the practices and in building a relationship with your yoni will result in the creation of more dopamine receptors IN THE UTERUS where the pleasure can be received. This means pain will be decreased as pleasure increases over time. So although at first, putting something inside of you

when you already struggle with painful intercourse may sound counter

intuitive, it is actually a healing tool that will ultimately lead to more

pleasure and satisfaction in bed with your partner.

There are multiple sets of muscles in your pelvis that you can learn to differentiate and control independently. Developing dexterity with these muscles can create more pleasure for both you and your partner and can help with experiencing orgasm.

The pelvic floor muscles, unlike other muscles in the body, have the ability to regenerate and repair themselves in just a short amount of time. This means that age does not need to limit your pleasure in bed, nor does scar tissue or physical trauma. This also means that if fertility is something you desire, it is possible for you. A yoni egg practice is certainly not the end-all for fertility struggles but it IS something that can help support your fertility, for the same reasons I have discussed regarding pleasure.

Pleasure and fertility go hand in hand. Fertility is often a gateway to pleasure inasmuch as pleasure is a gateway to fertility. Healing is possible with body, soul, and spirit support.

For this purpose I designed my Wombspace Sessions. A yoni egg practice is a wonderful way to begin on your own.

Many psychological traumas are stored in the body and a large percentage in the yoni. We are not just talking about sexual trauma. The yoni, as one of the most essential parts of our being, naturally stores emotional and energetic imprints we pick up in our lives.

It makes sense to work with trauma directly at the source, in the body tissue where it is stored. Releasing the patterns of tension in the tissue can help release trauma and remove psychological blockages, which can be tremendously more effective than just talking about them. This is why working with your egg has the power to help you heal old wounds and awaken the life and love you truly desire.

If you notice stirring emotions when you work with your egg, remember to be gentle with yourself. Go slow. Consider taking a break to journal, rest, or spend time in nature.

Inside the vagina, there are many reflexology points, just like the ones on the palms of our hands. They correspond with the internal organs – heart, liver, kidneys, spleen, etc. When you wear your egg you are massaging these reflexology points in a similar way to acupuncture, stimulating and rejuvenating the organs of your entire body. It has been noted that women who enjoy sex into old age tend to look younger

Practicing with an egg increases blood flow to your pelvic organs and helps move stagnant energy. Some women report stimulating the ovaries in this gentle way has assisted in balancing their hormone levels and reducing PMS and menstrual cramps. If you practice with Nephrite Jade egg, rose quartz egg, or black obsidian egg, you will also benefit from your stone’s specific healing properties.

Your yoni and womb are amazing, magical places capable of bestowing new life, creating new ideas and visions, and providing you with amazing erotic experiences. By connecting to your yoni and your womb, the very center of your being, you can start accessing your feminine power and creative potential.

PRECAUTIONS AND CONTRAINDICATIONS
TO Working With or Using YONI Eggs
  • I dis-recommend wearing your yoni egg all day as this can cause undue strain on the muscles and can worsen symptoms

  • if your yoni egg for any reason whatsoever appears to have any bacterial growth, DO NOT use

  • if your yoni egg cracks, DO NOT USE. this can harbor bacterial growth and could also possibly cut the delicate tissue of the yoni

  • I dis-recommend sleeping with the yoni egg in, to prevent your pelvic floor from engaging during sleep and becoming over worked and too tight, causing more tension and further increase in symptoms

  • If you have a fear of inserting things into the vagina due to trauma, I do not recommend beginning with this practice. Please book a wombspace session and get professional support.

How to Begin Your

Yoni Egg Practice

CHOOSING THE RIGHT YONI EGG FOR YOU

I recommend purchasing a yoni egg from a reliable source, and the one I recommend the most at this time is Yoni Pleasure Palace.

They have a variety of Yoni Eggs to choose from.

When you are just starting out, I recommend using pure jade.

I first bought a rose quartz yoni egg when I was just beginning my practice. It worked, for me but it was very, very intense. I didn't know much about crystals at the time, and now I understand why my experiences were what they were.

Rose quartz is an amplifying crystal. It will take whatever energy or emotion (or trauma) you are storing, or channeling, and amplify it.

If there is any heavy or "sticky" energy in your wombspace (from sexual trauma, stress or religious/cultural trauma) it will definitely be amplified. This could be useful because it will be easier for you to access it and move through it, but it could also be really overwhelming and possibly even re-traumatizing.

Ultimately, I would trust your intuition and the stone you feel drawn to, but it's always good to do some research on the energy of the crystals you're browsing and choose an energy that partners well with yours. Think about it like choosing a perfume, you don't just pick the one that smells good in the air, you choose one that completemtns your personal pheromones.

For example, Obsidian is a stone known to be extremely yang (or masculine) in its energy. For this reason, you don't want to use it for healing any trauma or woundings you may be holding in your wombspace.

It can be fun to use an Obsidian pleasure wand for pleasure play, but I dis-recommend using it for healing practices such as the yoni egg practice.

Amethyst is likewise another heavier energy that I would wait to use until after I had done some deeper healing and de-armouring, and booked at least one intensive Wombspace session or worked with a womb healer, holistic pelvic care practitioner or similar.

I recommend investing in a high quality jade egg, as jade is a very balancing stone and is what is generally used for yoni egg practices worldwide. You may even see articles or videos on Jade Egg practices.

Set the space

Before you begin your yoni egg practice, gather together everything you will need and create a sacred space for yourself.

You may need:

If you have the time, I suggest you light your favorite natural candles (I prefer beeswax or coconut wax.) You can also burn incense or herbs, or choose to diffuse essential oils that help support your intention, and I always recommend simply choosing what lights you up and what helps you feel the most relaxed. A Yoni Steam is wonderful way to begin a Yoni Egg practice, as it will deeply relax your yoni.

Amanda%20Boudoir%20Session080.jpg

Scroll down to the bottom of the page for my yoni steaming playlist that I also use for my Yoni Egg practices.

Play music that feels related to your intention, play my playlist, or choose soothing or sensual background music. Alternatively, you can play instrumental worship music.

Create your space, and set everything out that you're able to. If you can have a special place in your home (perhaps a guest room or the master bedroom, if it's off limits for children) where you're able to keep things set up this is wonderful as all you need to do is go in, light the candles and turn the music on. It makes the practice more accessible and easier to do. However, as I remind all of my clients, your practices are for YOU and not you for the practice. This means you can make it as simple or as extravagant as you're able to for your lifestyle.

Press play.

Drop you egg gently into a glass of warm (not hot) water to help to gradually warm it a little. (do NOT use hot water, or heat too quickly or your crystal may crack!)

Light your Sage bundle or Palo Santo and cleanse the space.

Light your candles, start your diffuser. Speak a blessing over the space and your time you'll spend with the practice.

Open your journal to a fresh page.
Remove your clothing, and continue the rest of the practice naked, if it feels within your practice in this season.

Liw down your bed, or your yoga mat with your yoni egg, and oil or lubricant close by.

Make sure your neck and head are comfortable and consider propping up your knees with a pillow to take pressure off of your lower back.

Rub both of your hands together to create energy through friction, and warmth. Gently place your left hand over your heart and your right hand over your wombspace, or wherever you intuitively feel led to touch and place your hands.

Let out a deep sigh.

Now, take a deep breath in through the nose, into the belly. Allow your belly to fully expand with the breath, soft and supple. As you continue to inhale, allow the breath to fill your ribcage, and your chest until you are full with life force energy and fresh oxygen.
